The rest of April in recap

So apart from our AMAZING holiday - what else did we get up to over April?

I'm beginning to think that I get punished for taking holidays. When I came back from our holiday to Bluey's Beach, I found myself with five night duty shifts - and this holiday wasn't much different. I came home to seven shifts straight; which included a lot of shift co-ordinator allocation (very stressful!); and quite a bit of overtime. Needless to say, the one day off I had after this was definitely NOT enough!

As I said at the start of this update, we received our nice little package from 'Uncle Kev', and promptly went and ordered the IMac we'd both wanted for a VERY long time. We had to put a fair bit of money into it ourselves - but this way we get something that will last us for quite a while and fulfill all the needs for a gamer such as my husband. Me? I'm just looking forward to the much easier video-maker and photo-editor applications!

I'm on a drug regime now to attempt in getting me 'up the duff'. I have to take my hat off to B as to how he's been during all of this - some days I really felt like I was going to either attack him or me with an axe or something! They really do a number on your emotions, and it's not something I'd willingly put myself through again. We're praying like mad that it has worked first go, and that we managed to 'catch the egg' after all of that, so to speak. Prayers from you guys would be greatly appreciated!

As well as tutoring my refugee family, I've also joined the Learning and Development Committee for VoRTCS (the tutor organisation). I'm currently researching information on culture, refugees, trauma and torture - so if anyone has any resources or ideas they wouldn't mind passing on to me, I would really appreciate it.

I wouldn't call myself obsessed like some of my friends, but I am quite enjoying the 'Twilight' series and took it upon myself to purchase the Twilight DVD through pre-order. Unfortunately, when it arrived the Postman decided to leave it in a 'not-so-safe' place, and Vox (our dog) found a brand new treat to enjoy! So I come home to the packaging strewn all over the yard, and my dog happily tossing the dvd around in the dirt. Needless to say, Sasch was NOT happy (with the Postman, I don't think it's Vox's fault!). So, yes, 'My dog ate my Twilight DVD'!! I'm currently awaiting compensation, and then I'll finally own my own copy!

So there you have it - what's gone on in the Harder household for the last month and a bit. Sorry there aren't any pretty pictures to peruse - hopefully I can do a nice little 'montage' of the holiday shots once Mariella (the IMac) makes her appearance.

(Did I mention we got a wireless mighty mouse and keyboard? WOOT!!!!)

Thanks for that Sasch, I am sympathising with you about your DVD and the dog situation....
Athough it could've been worse - at least it wasn't your new imac sitting on the doorstep ;) - Praise God for small miracles!!

An iMac! I'm jealous Sasch - my Toshiba laptop is giving me the irrits and I've only owned it for a year or so... I'm thinking a Macbook may be next!

Oh, by the way, it's Mish from the forum here... finally got to making my own blog on Blogger, so now I can 'follow' you (along with several others!! LOL). Please feel free to stumble by my blog (I've only now just realised that I named mine something rather similar, forgive me).

Fingers crossed for that BFP too. :)
